Introduction

The Advertiser Blocker gives you direct control over your site's ad inventory by allowing you to "blacklist" specific advertiser domains. Whether you want to prevent direct competitors from advertising on your content or filter out brands that don't fit your site's niche, this tool ensures that only appropriate advertisers can win bids in the Ezoic auction.

Steps

1. Accessing the Blocker

  1. Log in to your Ezoic dashboard.

  2. Navigate to EzoicAds > Ad Restrictions > Advertisers Blocked.

2. Adding a Blocked Domain

  1. Click the Green Pen Icon to enter edit mode.

  2. Enter the Root Domain: Type the domain you wish to block.

    • Correct Format: ezoic.com

    • Incorrect Format: www.ezoic.com or https://ezoic.com

  3. Click Add Row to enter multiple domains if necessary.

  4. Click Save to finalize your changes.

Troubleshooting

If a blocked ad continues to appear, it is usually due to one of the following:

  • Mediation Partners: The Advertiser Blocker only affects ads served through Ezoic's primary partners. If you are using Mediation (like AdSense), you must also block that advertiser within your AdSense dashboard separately.

  • Exchange Bidding: Some ads may come through Exchange Bidding partners that operate outside the standard domain-blocking logic. If you identify a persistent ad that won't go away, contact Ezoic support with a screenshot of the ad and its "click-through" URL.

  • Cache: It can take up to 24 hours for a new block to propagate across all global ad exchanges. Clear your site cache via Leap and check again in an Incognito window.
